Painful Outbursts

>>  Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Please, tell me I am not alone.

I am not the only one that suffers through out-breaks of canker sores, am I?

They are painful, and debilitating.

They consume me. They interfere with everything I do. Everything. Eating, Talking, Sleeping....Everything.

I have tried just about everything on the market too. Most of the "remedies" at $9, $10, $11, $12 a hit, for just a few applications. None of them being more than like adding salt to an open wound, literally.

Do you experience canker sores? {Not cold sores. Cankers}.

Have you found anything that works? Please, tell me you have...I am willing to try {almost} anything.

I used to get them sometimes, but I haven't in probably 5-6 years. I just did the salt thing, which hurts terribly, but works.

I had a canker sore last week, the first one I've had in a long time, and it hurt so bad it even stopped me (momentarily) from eating my Cadbury Mini Eggs. I have never known what could prevent them or make them heal faster. I really hope you can figure something out!

Yes, I do get them from time to time and I know what you mean. They are HORRIBLE! I always put that numbing gel on it before eating and at least it buys me enough time to get a little food down before the pain comes back.

Dr Karren told Heidi about Peroxly by Colgate it is alcohol free and it seemed to help her. You can buy it in a gel or mouthwash. We have only tried the mouthwash

Have you spoken to a doctor? Maybe something needs to be done to prevent them.

I get them and they are aweful! Peroxyl usually heals mine overnight! You can get it now OTC!

I've been to the dentist, numerous times. Each time, I get told to "tough is out, there isn't anything on the market". Which I Do Not believe.

My mom always swore by using Maalox (or some other form of stomach acid reducer type stuff). She put some on a Q-tip and then would coat the canker sores. It probably wouldn't hurt to ingest some of the medicine as well as cankers are a form of acid - which comes from the stomach...
Anyway, I hope you get rid of them soon!!!
Hugs.

Cankers are vicious little buggers that are straight from the deepest realms of hell. I get one or two big ones a year and it's usually when I'm stressed and not sleeping or eating well. I've used the "Canker Patch" and it works alright, better than most of the other products I've tried. If you haven't tried it yet I'd recommend giving it a try.
