The Woes of Motherhood

>>  Monday, March 14, 2011

Each phase of this mothering gig brings it's own headaches.

At times, I regret wishing for a phase to be over. Because the next phase is sure to bring something new {to be wished away}.

Currently, we are in the post-potty-training woes.

While in the midst of potty training my boys, I wished for nothing more than for it to be O.V.E.R. I wanted them to be independent {at least in that sense}.

But this little charmer:

Has got me wishing away, yet another phase.

He has become a little TOO independent, as he refuses to let anyone assist him with his *cough*wiping*cough.

I have suspected for some time that something was amiss with his way of attending to this duty. But, I didn't want to accuse.

I was relieved to discover that he was in-fact finishing the process. Imagine my horror, however, when I discovered that he was throwing his used tissues in the garbage cans, rather than in to the porcelain bowl, where they belong.

When questioned, as to why he insisted on this method, his reply? "Cause then I can re-use them mom....like when I have boogers"

I'm still not sure if he meant, LIKE WHEN he re-uses a tissue for his nose, or if he was actually admitting to using the same tissue on both ends.

Someone, please help me! Maybe if enough of us, wish together, this phase too shall pass. Maybe? A girl could hope.

At least he had a reason!

We have the opposite problem here, as in the child refuses to let anyone wipe him except for me.
Yes, I am the chosen one.

With the reusing of TP, just think of all the money you'll be saving.

Oh. Wow! hehehehe
We're about to head down that road with Baby. She already barricades herself in the bathroom when she poops in her diaper.
(And it just goes to show you how boring I am when I am making comments on friends' blogs about poop.)
