Water Softener+Bubble Bath=Disaster

>>  Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Have you ever seen 64oz of bubble bath poured into your average bath tub? What about 64oz of bubble bath poured into a tub filled with water, filtered through the water softener?

I knew when my Mo-tay came to me and announced "I put bubbles in Gettie's bath", I was in trouble. I never could have guessed how much trouble. I literally had bubbles spilling onto the floor around the tub.

In hindsight I wish I had grabbed my camera and just let them be because it was the ultimate bubble bath {pink water and all}, alas the mess overwhelmed me.

I will admit the bubbles were easier to clean than I had expected. The boys? Not so much as a shower was in order. Not something done willingly by the Mr. Mr. Gettie.

In the end, it was an early bedtime for all.

*For those that are not familiar with water softener systems: It's a process of filtering our water through salt, removing calcium and magnesium {which causes water to be 'hard'}. In short, we use almost 1/4th of what the directions instruct you to use when applying soap, as things lather up quicker, easier, softer.

Oh man!! Oh man!! It would have been early bedtime at my house if that happened too. And I hope that after you put them to bed you ate a pile of Recees PB cups!!

Yikes! I was raised with a water softener, and I know how much of a mess something like that would make. I'm glad you survived.

It happens in every household......either in the tub or the old liquid soap in the dishwasher trick.
