Thoughts on Sunday -Easter Edition
>> Sunday, April 4, 2010
My day started with the words "The Easter Bunny Came" echoing down the hall. Next year we will try for "He has Risen".
The excitement in my boys eyes truly was priceless this morning.
How many of you remember the classic Tootsie Roll Banks? They were a holiday staple during my childhood. Making it hard to resist when I found an Easter version of the classic, sporting jelly beans. In my own excitement this morning, I tried to show Mo-Tay that he could remove the jelly beans and the container became a bank. I explained to him, "You can put your pig money in there..it's a piggy bank" {we call money -coins especially, pig money}. His quick reply was "I put my pig money in there, and they turn into jelly beans?" If could only be that easy.
The 'Easter Bunny' was smart in limiting the candy given, but didn't take into account the 3 Easter Egg hunts and the family party that would be attended PRIOR to today.
Now I must figure out what to do with all this sugar, as I'm pretty sure it's turning my kids into unfamiliar mutants -terrorizing my world. Seriously. Their little eyes glaze over and they want more, more, more.....
We took time to color our Easter Eggs yesterday. At some point, my youngest {when I say youngest, I mean the one that NEVER eats} decided to eat the egg dye. Who would have thought? His teeth are no longer blue. Now we wait for other things to turn blue.
Phew! All in all everything went well and I can't wait for another one!

Eat the egg dye?? hahaha
I had one of those Tootsie Roll banks. I had completely forgotten! We never got eggs dyed this year. I kind of on purpose didn't remind them. And we decided to have the Easter Bunny come on Friday night, so Sunday could be about the Savior. I think I like doing it that way.
I don't think I had one of those banks. I was clearly deprived!
Wow, the memories you stirred up...I do remember those banks!!!
I hope your Easter was wonderful!
ahhh!
i do so love easter.. always have and always will i think!
My kids got Tootsie Roll banks last year. They love them!
We put the candy in the pantry, and apparently it's out of sight, out of mind. They haven't completely gorged themselves (yet).
Pig money to jelly beans, lol! Clearly shows where his priorities are, :)
Stopping by from the party, thanks for visiting my spot.
