I found her! After being told "You have her.." I did a little snooping (read: investigating) and found her tucked away, safe and sound in my Fathersons kitchen cupboard.
The original mug from my childhood, secure. Locked away in my curio cabinet!! Oh the stories this little mug could tell...if only she could talk!

My husband is always asking his mom where his stuff is. last time we were home we spent hours looking for his kool-aid pitcher that is in the shape of the kool-aid man!

I hear ya on the sentiments associated with your cup. My dh kept mentioning how he used to have a "Hop-along-Cassidy mug" when he was a kid. It seems every childhood story he told had a reference to that mug. So I found one on ebay and ordered it for him. Now it sits proundly displayed in our curio cabinet. It makes dh happy just knowing it's there. All that said to say, "Enjoy your mug!". LOL

I love sweet things like that from childhood. They are so worth keeping. I was a Strawberry Shortcake fan too.
