No Dog, One Dog, Black Dog, No Dog

The last weekend in March started with us adding to our family....
World....Meet Hali!
Now that you have met her. It is time to say your goodbyes...
Because as quickly as we became a pack, we have gone back to having nothing more than a fiesty feline.
Seriously she was the Perfect dog...well mannered, QUIET! (seriously she barked ONCE and never at ringing doorbells or anything you may have expected her to bark at), and she came to us trained.
Her good manners, however, were forgotten when I wasn't home.
Our best guess is that I had become her alpha, and when I wasn't home she set out to choose the pecking order. Naturally she wanted it to be her, second to no one, and Mr. Mr. Gettie at the bottom, making her ideas known by growling and snapping.
Chances are she would have adjusted and all would have worked out. The truth is, however, I wasn't that patient and Gettie was terrified of her by the end of my first work day away from her. He would wait for her to set down and then tip-toe past her. I was fearful of traumatizing him and her both so back she went......
Leaving us with only pets of the feline sorts (again).

If your gut said it wasn't a good thing, then it probably wasn't. Sorry it didn't work out though. :(
Oh, that's too bad! She sure is pretty.
That's too bad! We actually just got a dog two days ago, and he has been perfectly mild-mannered as well. However, I am always home, so it will be interesting to see what happens when I leave...
Poor Mr. Mr. Gettie! I'm glad he feels safe in his home once again!
