A little back-story to set the scene...
My youngest, the charmer, attends pre-school.
Not just any pre-school, it's hosted by the local high school. Because of this, his class is incorporated in to the high school learning program and high school students act as teachers and aids.
It took only the first few minutes of his first class before he had wooed and charmed every high school student teacher and aid.
The girls literally, physically fight over who gets to hold him, help him, teach him, tend to him, carry him.....
He eats up every minute of it, and has picked one as his favorite. Miss A.
Until Recently...
I got in the car one afternoon, recently, to find my Mr. Mr. Gettie in tears.
Heart-wrenching, air sucking, sobbing tears.
When asked why he was so sad, he replied "Because Miss A. can't be my girlfriend"
Caught between a laugh and sympathy, I asked for details.
"I tried to kiss her, and she turned her cheek. Daddy says I can't be her girlfriend, she's too old".
Oh the heart-ache.
I guess the story goes, that he tried to go in for a kiss, she saw her young student coming towards her and turned her head, catching his advances on the cheek.
We've had to give my little guy "the talk". The you are too young for girls, no girlfriends until you are 30, girls have cooties, no kissing...talk.
I thought boys were supposed to be easier to handle. They are supposed to be rough, tough, and dirty, but no drama. *sigh*

I hope his heart can heal from this!
Raising boys will give you a whole new perspective on men. They are gross and physical and obsessed with loud things. But they are also so incredibly tender and sweet and fragile. Bundle him up with lots of mommalove because one day his broken heart will be too proud to crawl up on your lap and cry.
Poor guy
Awwww..what a little sweetheart! Their little hearts are so tender...sounds like he's definitely a lover and not a fighter:)
This is sweet and funny!
Bless his little Heart! J
ust wait, in a couple of years, he will hate girls.
They will be yucky, ugly, cootie infected, etc.
If we could only protect them from the heartaches of the future...
Oh my word. That is so sad. I feel for your little tiger. :(
it's funny, but it sorta broke my heart too... poor little guy!!
Oh, the poor kiddo! Introduce him to the healing powers of pajama pants, ice cream, and BBC's Jane Austen movies.
What a charmer! How could she resist?
That is painfully cute! You my friend are going to have your hands full with that little charmer:)
I have 4 daughters that will gladly volunteer to be his girlfriends!
Kristie-I would gladly welcome any or all of your girls! You've got some great girls!
LOL
Poor Baby!
Have you seen the film clip (it's been all over TV) about the little boy crying because he's too young to be "the governor of New Jersey"?
Big thoughts for such little guys!
