Skipping February

>>  Friday, January 28, 2011

My least favorite month of the year is February {Closely followed by the month of August. If I had to pick between the two, February would lose. Everytime.}

I have my reasons.

Some of those reasons include {but are not limited to} my loathing of:

Conversational hearts. They taste like chalk.

The concept of cupid. I mean, really, who sees a chubby toddler yielding a weapon and thinks "awww..I'm in love"? Not me.

My husband tends to agree with my distaste for the month. Whether that be by persuasion, situation, or a formulated opinion, I know not. I care not.

What I do know is that he agreed to just pretend like February doesn't exist this year. Holiday and all.

So if you drive by my house and my St. Patricks day decorations are out, and wonder why....it's not because I've lost my mind. It's because we decided to skip the month of February, and you maybe just didn't get the memo.

They do have some better tasting conversation hearts out there now.

As long as your boycott of February does not include boycotting of those persons born in February, I will not complain. (being one of those persons unfortunate enough to be born in February)
:0)

Oh I don't mind it so much. I buy myuslef a few VDay gifts and the month seems a little better!

You are so funny. I like those chalky hearts! Now all that chocolate, I don't like!! Patrick loves his chocolate though, so I dutifully go out the day AFTER Valentines Day to get it half priced. He's like a chocolate junkie so I hide it all over the house and he seeks it out & usually finds it all...but that slows him down having to hunt for it. hehe. Have a good weekend girl! xx

Did you ever read the book "Skipping Christmas"? When you see what happens, you might think twice about skipping February.

I totally understand. I am starting to feel that way about most holidays. Buy if we skipped those months, there would only be like 3 months on the calendar.

Feb is not a favorite of mine either!

Dude... I love the conversation hearts. I'm 31 and my mom still buys
me a giant bag every year.

Randi Troxell 03 February, 2011 09:25

It's so cold here today. I definitely want warmer weather.
Maybe you should make sugar cookies with sayings on them like in the picture!

Skipping February sounds like an awesome name for a YA romance novel.

I just like to make heart-shaped food, that that also bee saturated in semi-cancer-causing red dye.

I like February because they sell pink and red candy. Like starbursts and laffy taffy. No more wading through the other kinds I dont like.

Oh I skip those crappy hearts and go for the chocolate! I get your need to sip the month though....March with the promise of spring, so much better!
