Random: A Long Weekend Finally Ends!

>>  Tuesday, September 7, 2010

It seems as though illness is a common theme, in not only my household, but many of yours.

The illness {here} went from bad to worse after my last post. At one point this weekend, they thought my Mo-Tay had an appendicitis. Luckily, their diagnosis was a bit hasty, as he is officially fever free and {almost} back to his feisty self. Thankgoodness! A HUGE thanks to those that kept in constant contact with me {over the last few days}, making sure all was well with me and mine...you're love was appreciated!

My Boys have discovered Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. The 1971 version. Oh! How I enjoy watching this classic with them. They just don't make things like they used to.

****************************

I spent this past Friday at a local event, known as Swiss Days. Think craft boutique on steroids with live entertainment and fair food. Each year the event gets busier and the women tend to get more vicious. I'm here to tell you, mean girls grow up to be mean women. I was shocked. The things people will say and do, just to get to something before you. The way I see it, if you are going to be that mean and nasty...you can have it.

****************************

I get down right giddy {with excitement}, with all the back to school events. It's not the new clothes or the school going that gets me going. It's the abundance of school supplies AND the Scholastic book orders. It's all I've got to not buy one of everything from the school supply aisles. While the book order forms...they are like finding gold in the bottom of my boys backpacks.  Books! Books! Books! I love books!

*****************************

After surviving today, and feeling as though I accomplished nothing, I'm pretty sure Labor-Day generates enough work for me to have to labor twice as hard upon returning to work. Not to mention the fact that my internal calendar can't seem to grasp the fact that it's Tuesday and not really Monday. *Sigh*

I have never been to Swiss Days. But I've heard that if you go after Friday morning, it's insane. Maybe next year!

Hey, long time no see, eh? I'm going to link to you today because I'll never forget what you said about me way way way back. ;) Your blog is so darn cute.

Glad your little guy did not have appendicitis. Not fun! And...I LOVE the scholastic book forms! I was quite upset when my kids stopped bringing them home in high school.

I love Scholastic book orders too. We got our first order forms last week and I put in a nice big order. I'm probably more excited to get it than John is. :)
I hope everyone is feeling better!

I love the back to school aisles in the store! I just love school supplies... the books, pencils, glue... I'm so odd I know!

The original Willy Wonka is the best! Love it!

I'm sorry Mo-Tay was sick! I'm glad he is doing better.

My kids love the old Willy Wonka too. It's definitely better than the new one.

I'm desperate for GOOD books and the book order forms we used to get had the best stuff. Next time you get one of those, let me know! I really want to order some stuff for the kids!
