I'm a Fixer
>> Wednesday, March 3, 2010
It's my nature. If something is broke, I mess with it until it's broke beyond repair, fixed or replaced. It's true. This rule of my existence has no prejudice either. Whether its a broken finger nail or a car in need of a mechanic, I just can't seem to leave things alone.
Naturally {for me}, when the freezer appeared to not be making ice, I couldn't leave it alone. I poked and prodded and googled it, until it was fixed. *For the record, the water line feeding the ice maker had water frozen in it.
It seems to be making ice. I think. But now it's traded its hum -which it had before, in for more of a click-clack. Every time I go in the kitchen I find myself taking a look at the ice maker. *Sigh*
Why must all household appliances have roughly the same life cycle? The original microwave is long gone, the oven has had it's day of work. Now the fridge.
Oh well. Maybe I should worry less about how it's sounding and work on making it as clean as the one pictured above. Because we all know mines not that organized. Not even on it's best day.

Good for you!~ I need to clean mine out too! Not that there is a lot of food in it. It is just dirty, and needs a good cleaning.
I am lazy and don't fix anything!
But can you fix my oven, dishwasher and disposal?
Please?
I think my appliances have entered into a suicide pact.
what a beauty of a fridge.. Mmm.. will never happen at my house though!
I don't fix anything. Yeah.
I'm really afraid my refrigerator is about to go.....which could cause an avalanche of broken appliances.
Clean freezers are overrated. That is unless you're planning on having a repair man come fix it. Then, yeah, it needs to be clean. Until then, for me, it ain't gonna happen.
you are brave, that's what you are! and awesome!
One of the screws on our oven door fell out two days ago. While it was hot. I had to carefully hold the handle on the other side and hope it wouldn't break.
And our fridge drips water in the very back (on the inside) from the freezer, I suppose. I have a bucket back there to catch the water and I have to dump it about once a week. I'm pretty much just waiting for it to go out on us.
I am a "sort of" fixer, my dishwasher computer gets all cranky if the water isn't quite hot enough, so I can reset that like a pro and save the $125 service fee. Anything more than that, it's 1800Handyguy please!
