Ravens, Wolves and Little Boys..Oh My!

My youngest {The Mr. Mr. Gettie} has a unique ability to make friends, almost instantly -with people and animals alike.

Our {recent} weekend away {Yellowstone National Park}, was no different.

Squeak and Squawk as my young one lovingly named them

Truly some of the largest birds I've ever seen -just milling about town {and every where else we went}, and intelligent. Seriously. I had no idea. I literally watched one of Gettie's new found friends open a duffle bag {sitting on the back of a snow mobile}. By open I mean, physically unzipping the bag. When he found nothing of interest, he moved to the cooler. He had the latch open and was headed in when he got spooked off.

One of Mr. Mr.'s newest friends however, gave me some concerns. It was the kind of friend that any parent would be able to sense as being nothing but trouble.
The Wolf, pressing his nose to the glass separating him and my young.

Gettie made this friend while on a visit to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. This particular wolf followed my little guy from one end of the viewing decks to another. Repeatedly. Even after leaving and returning {later} to a viewing deck {this time, behind glass}, this canine did all he could to get close to my little one. Maybe my Mr. Mr. was enticing as an afternoon snack {which is why you now may hear Mr. Mr. referred to as Wolf Bait}, or he truly just found a friend in my free spirited little one. Regardless, this ruler of the wild was not about to let my little one out of his sight!

That's crazy how smart those birds are, and it would really freak me out with that wolf!

I'm not familiar with bird behavior but that sounds extremely smart to me. WOW!...That wolf is beautiful but His behavior was waaaay creepy - that would give me nightmares for a week. YIKES!!

Such a pretty wolf, though! I would freak out if I saw one looking at me, but it would be kind of exciting.
