The Calendar of My Life

>>  Monday, January 4, 2010

Today, marks a very important day -in my world. It's a new beginning.. This is the first stone, on the path that will lead me to my final destination.

Today, I begin my new job.

Last night, I couldn't help feeling anxious and fearful. Rightfully so, I am leaving a career of 7+ years. A job where I was deeply rooted, having made friends, memories and experienced great growth. When I started (7 years ago), I was young. 21 years young. I was married, but had no children. My Better Half and I had just moved into our first home. I was young enough, inexperienced enough, that I knew nothing, while thinking I knew everything.

I experienced my life, sitting at the same desk. All of my losses, all of my gains, each moment shared by a small group of people that have walked with me -along the way.

These same people, these same experiences, the reason my decision -to leave, was so incredibly difficult. If it hadn't been for the fact that I knew -with every fiber of my being, that what I was doing was necessary, I never would have followed through with this decision.

Although, very bittersweet, I can't wait to see where today is going to take me.......

Change is always difficult - but necessary so we don't become stagnant. Now that you've made the big decision to "don't look back". Move forward assured this is what is "supposed to be" - no second guessing. I'll be looking forward to what the future brings your way - new friends, new opportunities -adventure.
