A Mother of Little Boys

>>  Wednesday, December 30, 2009

I've learned a lot, as a mother of small boys. Learned, in the school of hard knocks type of way. Some of the lessons, quite obvious. Obvious to the point that I wonder why I didn't see the moments coming. The rest, I wish someone had warned me. To save the rest of you some heartache, I thought I would share....

1. Like Barbie shoes (and all other sorts of girlie paraphernalia), small cars hurt like a real booger when stepped on -with bare feet.

2. Little boys clog toilets, sprinkle on the seats and create all sorts of ugly messes. Trust me, it's not pretty.

3. There is nothing, I can do that makes me as cool as something with a noisy engine, wheels or their daddy. There just ain't...

4. With two boys in the house, so close in age..I can tell the youngest anything I want, but it matters not -UNTIL said by the oldest. Never fails, I can tell Gettie 'that's so cool', only to have him reply 'not really'. Mo-Tay tells him 'it's cool' and it's written in stone.

5. They come with an inherent pride in their ability to fart, and belch.. Ick!

My best advice, harvest little girls. Or better yet, just enjoy it all! Because no one loves a mom, like her little boys!

I have inherent pride of my burps... But not my farts. I should've been a man!

As the mother of 4 boys, I can attest that all of that is true!
But Mothers of little girls......if they have 4 brothers, they are just as bad! Except for peeing on the seat. We have had peeing demo's here at our house, because I was going to kill the next little boy who left me a wet seat first thing in the morning.

My boy and husband both sprinkle on the seat. They apparently never outgrow that.
