Operation: Be Prepared (Week 7)
>> Wednesday, July 1, 2009
This Weeks List:
2 Cans Ready-To-eat Soup* (Not concentrated)
2 Cans Fruit*
2 Cans Vegetables*
Sewing Kit
Disinfectant
1 Gallon Water
Extra Baby Supplies (Bottles, Formula, Diapers)
*Per Person
Things To Do:
Place a pair of shoes, a flashlight, a whistle, and a pair of work gloves in a plastic bag and tie the bed to your bed frame.
Tidbits:
Many may remember my decision to make 'let there be light kits' after THIS happened. I have simply added the items from this weeks 'Things To Do' list to those kits.
I am choosing to purchase my disinfectant in the form of cleaning disinfectant (bleach), wound or personal disinfectant (hydrogen peroxide), and Water Purification (aqua tablets).
5 Pepsi Points :
I cary around disinfectent on a regular basis. Quite frankly, you never know who you're going to meet.
Rubbing alcohol is also a good disinfectant. Water filters are available in compact sizes and good prices available online.
An alternative to the garbage bag tied method is to use a duffel bag and stash it under the bed.
Thanks for Operation Be Prepared. You Rock!!
Hi Honey, i have something for you....
I have been printing these posts and keeping them in a binder! For the first time, I actually feel some peace (thanks to you, my very dear friend) that I am somewhat prepared for an emergency!
Or you can be me and have ordered one of those nifty kits yesterday and feel quite haughty about it now.
