Operation: Be Prepared (Week 6)

>>  Monday, June 15, 2009

This Weeks List:
Deluxe First Aid Kit
Safety Pins
Sunscreen

Thing To Do:
Practice your evacuation plan
Identify storage areas for your supplies, such as a close along an inside wall or several heavy-duty watertight bags or containers that can be stored outside. If using outside storage, ensure that containers are wather and animal proof.

Tidbits:
Location of your survival supplies could be key following a natural disaster. Some considerations made in my home is the garage or an outside storage shed. Regardless, I felt it necessary to have the supplies as far from the basement as possible (pending a collapse of the structure, or flood. My ultimate solution would be a free standing storage shed on my property)

We have emergency supplies in the garage, it's part of our camping gear which we will use if we need shelter. Also, I have my pets crates in there, ready to go. Evacuating with cats is SO MUCH Fun!! NOT!!

If I had had my saftey kit with me on Saturday, I wouldn't have needed to make Rychelle get safety pins at the store, to hold up The Hoff nametags! Always be prepared!
