Rusty Studded Wrecking Ball

>>  Friday, May 15, 2009

Several years ago, while in my third year of pregnancy (a story for another day) I was prone to sudden outbursts of crying. All of which were usually preceded or followed by rage. The sudden mood swings became quite comical...even to myself.

At one point or another (the facts are blurry..and not important), I referred to my mood swings as 'the pendulum swinging'. Kyle, at a loss for words spat back "Pendulum!?! I don't think so!! Try a Wrecking ball. A rusty, STUDDED wrecking ball".

Now, if it looks like I am prone to a sudden emotional outburst, my better half will look at the boys and yell "Duck". My sweet boys will do just that. Literally ducking for cover. Not knowing exactly why. Which usually gains a smile out of me and has a tendency to soften the blow.

We all have our indicators. The not so suttle signs that all is not right in our world. Mine just happens to be the beeping of heavy machinery -backing up the driveway, the distinct clanking of chains rattling as the wrecking ball is lifted into the air and aimed......

My boys would appreciate a warning signal like Duck. I'm prone to growl.

YEP... hubby would think its perfection to have a warning!

What a cute story, I know I'm not gonna piss you off today. LOL
I used to have a tee shirt which had a BIG crab on the front and it said, "Don't bother me I'm Crabby", everyone in the family knew if I was wearing "That" shirt they better stay away...I wore the shirt till it had so many holes in it I had to throw it away. Sure wish I had another like it.

I know what you mean about the sudden anger. That's why I'm on my new meds.
But at least your husband handled it with ease.

My rusty wrecking ball has been in full swing these last couple of months! Hope yours is slowing down!
