-As I worked on my emergency preparedness kit...the list called for 'water-proof matches'. Don't we call those lighters?

-I have a tendency NOT to read through the comments of others before I leave my own. It makes me wonder how many times I have made a fool of myself.

-My oldest can often be heard singing along with television shows, various songs etc...A sure sign he is getting too big! (More to come on this...later)
-Several months ago, I had a co-worker come to me looking for a bicycle (from my employers lost and found) for a child in need -in the community. Because of policy and procedure I wasn't able to provide him with a bike. But decided that I would give him one of my own...from home. My childhood mountain bike. Before you laugh, It was a darn good bike. I earned that $280 mountain bike..the hard way. Lemonade stands, babysitting money, extra chores. I kept it in pristine condition too. Always clean, oiled, and the tires inflated. It was one of those defining moments in my life. A lesson in keeping what you've got -good, because money doesn't grow on trees. It has moved with me over the years. My 5'2" body long since out-grew its frame built for someone under 5'. I knew it was going to a good cause. From time to time, I see the gal that it benefited riding to and from school on my bike. I was devastated to find it in my employers lost and found this morning. Completely TRASHED. The brakes have been cut, the tires changed out, the handle bars mutilated, gears stripped and the front forks sawed off and outfitted with the forks from another bike. I will admit, I shed some tears.

-My 3 year old recently told me "Don't be Bossy". Nice. I'm teaching him well. Can you tell?
-Understandably so, I am obsessed with guns. I am thinking about taking another handgun course in the fall. Not that 'asking for' a Mothers day gift is customary...but, I did tell Kyle 'If you need any ideas..I want a Glock Range Bag (single Pistol)'. Got that?

-As badly as I wanted to return home from my recent trip to the desert, it took all of 45 minutes of a normal work day, before I wanted to practice my skills on everyone I encountered...or at least high-tail it back to the desert.

I actually rarely read the comments of others, only because I read so many blogs, that I don't have the time.

Sometimes I do, depending on how many their are, and what the post is about.

I am always amazed when people tell me they read all my comments.

Sally's World 01 May, 2009 13:08

it depends on the post for me, if someone is asking for advise i try not to repeat too much, but there isn't always time to read every one, some of the blogs i read have dozens...so i skim only...its more important to me to have my say (shocker) but to aknowledge i have read and show support...like me, most bloggers don't care if comments are repeated anyway....

Great list, so sorry about your bike.
The Glock Range bag sounds like the perfect gift for Mother's Day.
"Don't be bossy." so funny, what a cutie.
Unless you are a meanie, I don't think any comment is stupid.
Comments are to respond to the post, not the other commenters usually. Is my blog etiquette wrong?
I hope you get to the range soon to work on your skills.

Moms are SUPPOSED to be bossy! It's our job!

So sad about the bike..was it stolen or did the new owner thrash it?

lagirl 01 May, 2009 15:21

Glad to hear you're working on your Emergency Kit. Hope others are doing the same.

Bossy?
Hey, someone's got to funciton in a supervisory capacity, so I figure it may as well be ME! Or You!! LOL

Is there some unknown rule where we need to be reading other comments before we leave our own? Cause I don't care what other people have to say, it's all about what I want to say to the person.

Sorry about your bike. Especially for that little girl who was riding (and I'm sure loving) it.

I never read through ppl's comments. I did back-in-the-day but now that I have a bigger following I just don't have the time for it, ya know?

Jo 01 May, 2009 16:53

That is so sad about your old bike. Asking for a gun bag is probably not the typical mother's day present, but then, you are a complicated person!

Just SO 01 May, 2009 19:39

I would have shed a few tears as well. That's really sad about your bike. And I love what you asked for for mothers day.

Debbie 02 May, 2009 09:56

The bike story is so sad!
And I rarely read the comments either. Oh well. I sound crazy whether I do or not:)

I am sorry about your bike...boo hiss boo:(

Definitely need to get the Glock bag...a fine accessory!

I can hardly read all the blogs I follow let alone comments on other blogs!lol!

Elisa 02 May, 2009 22:30

I never read the blog comments either. Usually.

It was delightful to meet you today! You are amazing! Thanks for organizing it!

Amber 02 May, 2009 23:39

It was great to chat at lunch! So nice to see you again!

Bonnie the Boss 03 May, 2009 22:08

I don't always read the comments either and wonder the same thing.

Jamie 04 May, 2009 07:35

That is so sad about the bike. My parents sold my 1st bike at their yard sale for $10. I was upset when I found out, but my hubby bought me a new one for mothers day 5 or 6 years ago, so I'm over it.

If my kids called me Bossy, it would be a compliment. I get called much worse names.

Cassie 05 May, 2009 21:33

That stinks about your bike. Here you do a nice, loving thing in donating your special bike...oh well. I guess you'll never know how it got all bunged up and in your lost & found huh?

We are heading up north on the 15th or at least that's the plan. I'll let you know before we hit the road (like 2 gypsies and their 2fierce canines). If it's hot in Utah we'll try to get through it as quickly as possible.Depending on timing, we usually either stay at the Provo Hampton Inn or the High Country Inn in Ogden. Both allow pets.
