You have ever tied the pantry doors closed in

Bee and Rose... maybe thats what I should do too!! Lol!

Been there and done that. We had to buy a fridge lock because my son took it upon himself when i was in the shower to break/throw a dozen eggs on the kitchen floor followed by a gallon of milk. Good times!!

Ashlee 10 March, 2009 08:36

We had to put Caleb's dresser in his closet and then use the baby proofing ties to keep him out of there! We used to have a gate latch on it, but it kept pulling out.

Jamie 10 March, 2009 08:57

Um, there was a time that we used a bike lock on our fridge doors.

There was also a time that we locked every single one of our closet doors with pieces of wood. We had sliding doors and put the wood in the tops of the tracks where she couldn't reach them.

We also did what Ashlee did, put B's dresser inside her closet and lock it closed to keep her from getting in and tearing out all of her clothes.

None of the store bought childproofing stuff worked and we had to outsmart B because she could get into anything - not to mention that she was at least 5 when we had to use these methods.

You're lucky that the kids haven't figured out how to undo the string.

I would love to have pantry doors to tie shut. But I can see the need for this.

Let me know how this works out for you so I can attempt to try this at my house!

I'm just making a mental note for when I have kids!

I love it. I have actually tied the game closet, kids closets and all other doors, just to try to keep a big mess from happening.

Jen 10 March, 2009 14:16

Haha! Well I haven't tried that yet but certainly I have "hidden" food to keep paws off so it doesn't go away so quickly.

Jessica G. 10 March, 2009 14:52

This also works on the kids' bedrooms doors. I know this from experience...my mom did it to us.

I have to tie the refrigerator doors closed in order to keep Ro from making all the milk an amalgamation of strawberry and chocolate!

Oh and to keep her from eating all the apple sauce and drinking all the OJ (It gives her rashes from overly acidic pee).

I feel your pain, my friend! (I am also glad I am not the only one who does this!)

I haven't done that. Yet.

Bonnie the Boss 10 March, 2009 16:20

Does duct taping the fridge shut count?

kate 10 March, 2009 18:37

I have definitely done that many times or hidden food so they don't keep raiding it. Very funny. Have a great week.

wendy 10 March, 2009 20:55

You can bet your sweet booty I have done that. HEY - you know Sue Bryner Brown (wow) ---that makes us "tight" don't ya think.

Mrs4444 10 March, 2009 21:35

Oh, I've been there. It's been a long time, though :)

Don't worry boys. Pappa e-mailed you the instructions on how to deal with that nasty knot. I won't let your mean old mommy keep you away from the gold fish crackers. Besides- just remind her who taught her to tie her shoes.Don't tell her about the missing cookies-
Love you Pappa

Love it. My video cabinet has an elastic on it. Layne just installed locks on all lower cabinet doors. JJ and Libby just took all my contacts out of the packages Saturday and riped them and I think ate some!
