Go Ahead, Take it...

You can strip me of my 'mother of the year' award. I don't deserve to have it sitting on the shelf. This is what has come of my oldest. That would be my 'Mo-Tay' sitting in the dentist chair. I feel just horrible. Two cavities and one brave little boy, things are back to normal. But sitting there watching my little one being gas'd and scared was Painful! VERY VERY Painful!

No, no. A bad mom wouldn't take him to the dentist at all and would make him get a root canal later.

Randi Troxell 12 February, 2009 10:10

thats really pitifull... i couldnt even imagine, but im glad things are settled and back to normal again.

Erin 12 February, 2009 10:21

We had to do this last month. I'm glad everyone survived!

Cammie 12 February, 2009 10:22

at least you are brave enough to do it. I make my husband deal with any sort of needle going into my children.

It does look pretty sad but my youngest just looked like just about a month ago. So don't feel like a bad mom your not!

Donna 12 February, 2009 11:52

Oh my gosh! I would have freaked out too. Actually, my son would have been the one really freaking out if that were him. Your son sounds like he was so good about it. Wow!

Candice 12 February, 2009 12:06

not you too! ugh...i'm doomed! aparently this runs in our family, which means it MUST come from the boys....don't feel bad! :)

Dawn Parsons Smith 12 February, 2009 12:18

We just went through the whole dental thing too. You are a fanastic mom for taking him to the dentist!

The Rambler 12 February, 2009 13:14

Oh no....big hugs...no stripping of any Mother of the Year Title!

Awwww!!!! Don't worry, cavities happen.

Anonymous ,  12 February, 2009 16:50

I'd be scared too! Why is he rigged up in such a terrifying way?

Unknown 12 February, 2009 18:23

Not all terrible... he survived and is probably stronger for it.

My 11 year old had to be put under for the removal of 4 very large teeth that were impacted. That was 3 months ago and she doesn't recall any of it. I'm glad because the picture of her is horrifying.

Actually that gas is "good stuff", sure wish I'd been privy to it when I was a kid! It's a gentle way to take care of BIG (or little) dental needs.

Country Mouse, City Mouse 12 February, 2009 21:11

Oh that is sad, he won't remember though. Better than living with tooth pain.

mama's smitten 12 February, 2009 22:34

Oh so sorry you felt that way. I totally understand!

Your a great mommy....your dealing with it now instead of leaving it....but I know how you feel....

Bonnie the Boss 13 February, 2009 14:42

I have taken my kids to the dentist regularly and I still have one who had to have a root canal! So if you get the bad mom award, I get the worst mom award! You aren't bad! it happens.

Jen 13 February, 2009 15:28

Awww...seeing him that way makes me sad; but the healthy teeth in the long run will be worth it! Hey, have you seen the Youtube video of the boy who came out of the doctor's office all looped up? It's pretty funny (and sad in the same sense too).

mama's smitten 13 February, 2009 16:14

Just want to remind you your doing a great Job!Please stop by and visit me. I have something you deserve!

I started crying when they had to take blood from my 3 month old baby. They had an idiot doing the blood draw and she couldn't get the blood to NOT clot in the tube. She tried to stick her 4 times.

After the third try, I told her she had no idea what she was doing and if she came near my baby again, I was going to knock her out!

Your boy needed his teeth fixed. Now he won't have to have more involved work done later.

YOU are a GOOD MOM!

Ugh. What a picture! When I first saw this, I actually thought your little guy was headed off to major surgery. Glad to read it was "only" a dentist appointment.

Seriously, though, you rock as a Mom. To have to sit by and watch your son be hooked up like this may very well have sent me over the edge.
