Keeping The Kids Contained

>>  Monday, November 10, 2008

We like many home-owners have an odd shaped space under the stairs. Some choose to use this space to store things such as their food storage, camping equipment or holiday decorations. I personally have decided its a good space for keeping kids.

OH I like it! A kid closet. Can you hang them in it to keep them off the floor when you are done playing with them? Or do you just toss them in and close the door?

I think it's a great idea-- the only thing missing is a baby gate... I use them everywhere! I'd probably use kennels too if I weren't afraid of family services. :)

We have and under the stairs closet like that too.
We use it to store our Halloween costumes and Christmas decorations.
We've told the kids that they can't play there, so naturally it's their favorite spot to be.

Hey, if it's good enough for Harry Potter, it's good enough for anybody.

So, umm...how often do you just close the door and walk away? ;)

I so wish I had stairs for that reason!! I promise I would never lock it...at least not often!

Haha, I remember my friend's parents had a room similar to that for us! It even had a built in ceiling lamp.

I wish I had a space to keep my kids. I think duct tape would need to be involved.

I sometimes which I had a box to play in.

In our neck of the woods that strange space under the stairs makes a good tornado shelter...

As a child, I would find all sorts of places to be. Like up on the third shelf in my closet. Or under the house in the dirt. Or under the bed. I was great at hide and seek! Your boys will have fond memories of playing in the closet together.

What a great little play area for the boys! How cute!
