A Safe Place

One of our less often talked about, and furrier members of the family is our Jersey Girl. She's been around longer than the boys, and has always been one of the family. Despite her "touch me not" attitude, she insists on being wherever the family is. But her desire to not be touched leaves her seeking refuge within the the room we are inhabiting, while staying as close to the action as possible.
In this instance, she took refuge on a barstool cushion that had been set on the counter top. Just out of the kids reach, yet close enough to be a part of it all. That's my Jersey Girl! Oh how I wish I could find a spot just out of reach, able to see it all, but not have to deal with any of it. Unless of course I wanted to. I don't know that I would choose a cushion on the counter top, but you take what you can get. Where do you seek refuge from it all?

That's awesome. With 3 children that are not old enough to be left alone my refuge is the bathroom. I can grab a magazine and head for the twaliette (I trying to make it seem fancy--haha).
My couch, in front of my DVR. Heaven.
the broom closet
What a cute kitty! I like how this post kind of alluded to the title of your blog, "An Eagle's View," where you can see everything but be removed from it too.
My refuge? I have a few. My bed. Like Kristina, my couch, watching TV. My car. Occasionally, the spa. Often, Barnes & Noble.
refuge? what's that? i can't even be alone in the bathroom sometimes. when i find that quiet place, i will let you know. but, don't hold your breath, it may be a while.
