She Called Me Sleek!?!

I make frequent trips up and down a long hallway at work. And, although my office is the one of the only things at the end of this hallway, it is not uncommon for me to pass co-workers as they come out of the restrooms or kitchen.

Just this morning, I passed a co-worker in the hallway, intent on making it to my destination, I greeted her and continued on my way. She was quick to follow me, and anxious to catch up with me. As she approached me, she made the following comment:

"All that walking, is working, you sure did look sleek as you rounded that last corner....."

She called me sleek!?! I know its silly to get excited about. But when you've carried three babies, been married almost 8 years, and have a desk job, the images of you in your sleek and slender years are nothing but fading memories. I was so excited, I could have kissed her right there in front of everyone.

I refrained from kissing her, but I definitely oozed gratitude for the compliment and dubbed her my new best friend! It's nice to know that the 515 plus minutes of walking and working out at the gym are finally starting to catch up with me...in a good way!

Now, I know that 515 minutes doesn't sound like anything grand, but in 30 minute increments, while trying to juggle a full time job and being a single parent 3-4 days a week, its monumental! Not to mention the fact that I had a reason to hold my head a little higher that day! And believe me, I did. It felt GREAT!!
