The Name Song

How many of us, at some time have sang the 'Name Song'? Don't look bewildered and confused..you know the 'Name Song'. What if I sang....

Mi My Mo Mally, SALLY!

Is that bringing back the memories of your name being inserted into this silly song (and all of its variations)? Mason has decided that he really enjoys this song. We sang for the entire length of our 15 minute drive home from work last night.

I playfully started it, inserting his name, in an effort to get him to smile. As soon as I end that first rendition, I heard. "Maw-Mee, You now..." So there we went (I'm sure you can see where this is taking us...)

Banana Nana No Faw-Me

Mi My Mo Maw-Mee, MAW-MEE!

By the time we made it home, we had sang everyone's name from Auntie C to the neighbor across the street! Oh how he makes my heart soar. He continued the songs on his own once we had arrived home, which sounded very similar to:

Maw-Mee, nana nana nana bo

nana, nana, nana, MAW-MEE.

He would then pick a new familiar name and start over. The smiles he can bring to my face!
