When It Rains It Pours

Without fail, when salt is purchased at our house, something goes wrong. We have also learned that the amount of salt purchased is directly related to the severity of what goes wrong. Just this week, we purchased four 40lb bags of salt for our water softener. So, I should have been prepared, when Kyle called from the kitchen "The oven isn't working". At this point, as far as we can tell its nothing more than a fuse. Or is it a glimpse of whats to come this week?
We have all heard that the spilling of salt is considered to be bad luck. We truly don't consider ourselves to be superstitious, and this concept that things are going wrong because we purchased salt is a way of explaining our circumstances, or possibly just coincidences.
I'm beginning to wonder though, if these incidents are truly just coincidences. We may just find out for sure this week, as we tend to our broken oven, and brace ourselves for more unexpected occurrences. Because we have all heard the infamous Mortons Salt slogan announcing that "When it Rains it Pours".

I seriously cannot believe the irony with you two and your salt. I'm not a superstitious person, but it scares me every time you buy Mortons Salt.
What can I say? There is no explaining it. Its just the way it goes...The good news is the bad luck usually doesn't effect anyone but the members of my household ;)
