What Size Shoes Do You Wear?

>>  Saturday, May 10, 2008

Todays truly spring like weather gave me a cleaning bug, which included the vacuuming of our cars. Seth was sleeping, while Mason was watching his new found favorite show, "Higgly Town Heroes". Also, known at our house as "Figgies". This served as a perfect opportunity for me to work in the garage, without having to worry about the boys chasing each other into the street.

It didn't take long before Mason appeared in the garage, wearing only socks on his feet. As he headed down the driveway towards a puddle of water in only his stocking feet, I stopped him and asked him to put shoes on his feet. Without hesitation, he ran to the back porch where his "outside shoes" are usually kept, as I returned to my cleaning.

He hasn't quite mastered putting on his own shoes, so I knew it wouldn't be long before he appeared at my side with shoes in hand, asking for "Help". After several minutes, I could hear him laughing and giggling. My first instinct was to stop what I was doing, in order to scold him for not doing as I had asked. Only to realize he had done exactly as I had asked him too.....

I hadn't told him to put on his shoes. But rather to put on some shoes. Which is exactly what he did, nevermind the fact that they are at least 10 sizes to big for his toddler size 6 feet. It should go without saying that he ended up with dirty socks anyways. But it's okay, once upon someone purchased me a washing machine.
