A Firm Foundation

I originally wrote the below for other intents and purposes. However, due to things beyond my control, other paths were taken and this piece was set aside. I didn't, however, want it to be lost.....

When building something, especially a large building or structure, even one’s greatest visions will surely end in failure if a strong foundation is not established. For everything needs a foundation, of some sort, in order for it to hold its intended shape, and remain strong.
I’ve discovered that the same can be said for our way of thinking, and ultimately, our happiness. Without a firm foundation for our thoughts to stand on, our thoughts are left to wander aimlessly, influenced by the negative, often times bending with the winds of negativity as they pass by.
The footing of a firm foundation, for my own positive thoughts, has taken shape by talking to myself.
You heard me right..talking to myself.
By talking to myself, I am referring to the use of daily {sometimes hourly} affirmations.
Examples of my own –daily affirmations are:
“Today will be a good day!”.
“I am loved!”
“There is good in the world!”
With the repetition of even the smallest of positive affirmations, something amazing has begun to transpire. Each individual positive affirmation has become stronger, eventually building, one on top of another, a firm foundation for my mind to stand on.
As the winds of negativity pass by this structure of mine, it is the firm foundation holding my mind steady. Giving my mind the ability to remain strong, holding its desired {positive} shape. Its spires pointing me towards the happiness and that I desire.

I think this is pretty brilliant!
