Alternate Post: The Week In Review
We are full speed ahead with School, which means a strict schedule of reading, writing, and homework. I wouldn't trade my circumstance for anything, but man it feels like I have been enrolled into Kindergarten and Grade 2 ALL.OVER.AGAIN. It can be quite exhausting. We just keep pushing forward though.
With all the reading that is going on in our house I thought the boys would enjoy having their own library cards... On Wednesday I surprised them by taking them to the library and doing just that...getting them their very own library cards. Talk about two excited little boys. You would have thought I bought them their very own library...well, I guess I kind of did, huh? Regardless, they are over the moon! It was cute to watch them puff up their little chests as they handed the librarian the books they wished to check out and their cards.
On Friday we had a much anticipated "play date" with cousins. I had to work Friday day, but promised the cousins I would pick them up at 5pm so they could all come to our house for pizza and a movie. My promise worked out well when I discovered that our ward has hosting their annual "Movie Night" on Friday as well. Movie night actually consists of a movie being projected and played on the front lawn of the church. The featured movie? Swiss Family Robinson. It was all good fun. After our pizza dinner we walked to the church next door where we enjoyed popcorn, cotton candy, and Root beer while watching the movie from the comfort of our blankets, and under the night sky.
On Saturday we made the trip to Brigham for the Brigham Temple open house. This was definitely the highlight of our week. Mo-Tay was especially excited, as he was disappointed in not being able to attend a temple wedding with us last weekend. In fact, last week when Kyle was explaining to him about temple recommends and how one obtains their recommend, he replied with "ask me the questions [that they ask in your recommend interview], I bet I can answer them." Love that kid!
But I digress...The Brigham Temple was, as expected, BEAUTIFUL. Despite it not yet having been dedicated you could still feel that calm peace that can only be found inside the Temple, standing as a testament of its purpose and confirming our beliefs. The whole evening was such a neat and uplifting experience, and we look forward to returning after it has been dedicated.

How wonderful that the boys got to experience that temple with you. :)
And yay for the beginning of the school year and how organized you seem to be!
PS. So stinkin' cute about the library card excitement. :)
I need to get tickets for the temple. I'm sure it's amazing!
You have taught your boys well, if they are that excited over library cards!
The temple was beautiful! I loved the peach blossom theme.
I love temple open houses. I've seen pictures of the Brigham City Temple and it looks gorgeous!
I hope you've had a good summer!
