Shhhh...

One of the biggest battles I fight is keeping my kids entertained in church and when we travel long distances in the car...

Fed up with the norm, and tired of watching them drive cars on the back of the pews in church, I brainstormed....{okay, and and maybe spent some time on Pinterest}

Behold!! Quiet activites for my kids!

All it took was two dollar store cookie sheets, some binder rings, a strip of magnets, flashcards, ziploc bags, my laminator and an afternoon of crafting..

I LOVED the idea of having them use the cookie sheet as their "desk" and putting magnetics on everything. It gives them a "work space" and keeps it all in one place. GENIUS!

I didn't manage to get pictures of everything else, but I also made a tic-tac-toe board {laminated, with pieces and magnets so they will stick to the cookie sheet}, some church related flashcards and laminated handwriting sheets and coloring pages. I laminated everything so it can be used again and again (I also made sure I put some plain paper in there too, in case they just wanted to draw).

Now, to just keep these away from the kids {except on Sundays and on trips}..I don't want these things to be in their usual rotation, boredom=disaster!

*The cookie sheet is smaller..at only 9x12 in size, so it's not too bulky to haul around. Both sheets actually fit in a small book bag/tote easily

What a great idea! I used to teach preschool and we had all kinds of learning materials we made ourselves. Laminating was my friend!

What a terrific idea! And you can keep adding new things to use on it.
