Crap I've Made

Alternative Post Title: The trouble saying "I can make that.." can get you into.

It's not uncommon for me to wander through local craft shows this time of year. It's a great place to find gifts, inspiration and....just waste time {sometimes}. It's also not uncommon for my hubby to wander with me.

The good to having him wander with me is, we get to spend time together. The bad is the fact that he's a little more conservative with the $$$ when it comes to buying things he says "I can make that....".

He learned the hard way, this time, that although true, he can make something, coughing up the $40 would have been a whole-heck-of-alot-easier.

I will admit, the experience of making it was worth MORE than the $40 we would have spent at the craft show AND the $50 {give or take $10+) we spent {after the three trips to the home improvement store} to finally make our own.
(Sorry, there is kind of a lot going on BEHIND the stocking hanger. It would have made sense to move it to a better back-drop, but I didn't. Oh well}

The garland and snow-flakes were a personal touch, the craft show version didn't have. In the end, I love it!

It makes for a great story though! I have no doubt your more expensive version is nicer anyhow! :)

Love both the actual title and the alternative one. I get myself into trouble saying the same thing as I wander through the same types of craft markets! :) Cause you know, I need to add another couple dozen things to my "make it" list. HA!

the best sign I ever saw at a craft fair was "yes, you can make it, but will you?" your stocking hanger is beautiful....I'm impressed.

That is nice! You guys are talented, I guess it was worth it, right? I am very unskilled at crafts so I buy most of my crap.

This stocking hanger-upper thing is SO CUTE! I'm proud of you for making your own.

Is your family's names on the other side of the stockings? (If they are, that was genius of you to turn them over before taking the picture!)
