Child Labor Laws?

>>  Tuesday, January 12, 2010

In an effort to engage my Mo-tay in the day to day activities, I've taught him to help with some of the simple things. Putting towels away, folding blankets, putting silverware in the dishwasher...

I can't help but wonder, when do the child labor laws come into play?Mo-Tay folding sheets, and towels, and matching socks, and...and...and...

They never come into play. Excellent work!

Oh man, if the kids will do it, let 'em!

hahaha awesome. I say child labor laws don't come into account when it's your own children!

It is such a good thing to have him do. His wife will appreciate you!

My 4 year old is super interested in helping me whenever she can. My 6.5 year old I think is mostly out of that stage. I gotta remember to use this to my advantage. :)

That is so terrific that he wants to help you. It's really important for children to pitch in with some household chores because that's the way a family is supposed to work. At his young age he's getting a lot of satisfaction out of being able to help his mommy too!! Smart thinking D.!

LOL! It is so great that he actually wants to help you out though. Enjoy it while you can! You never know when he is going to realize that it's work.

Isn't that what you had children for?

Lee 13 January, 2010 20:14

I'm going to have two.
And they will be my housework minions.
And it will be glorious.

We asked that question many times when we were kids. We even went so far as to accuse my parents of having kids so that they wouldn't have to do the dishes or take out the trash. My parents just replied, "that's right!" Honestly, though I'm glad they taught us how to do that stuff.

The earlier they lean to help the better! We all want to raise children that know how to take care of themselves these days,

Sure hope you are feeling better soon Danielle. Sending thoughts, hugs and prayers!

I say that when parenting is concerned, there are no child labor laws. Let them earn their keep, right? I'm just kidding of course. A little bit.

Hey Danielle! Where ya been? Hope the new job is all you hoped it would be.
Blessings,C.

I came over from YaYa's blog and I was all about the child labor and now the grand-child labor. Their favorites, and mine, was always folding washcloths.
