Stupid is, as Stupid Says

Or something like that.
I pride (I know, I know..we aren't supposed to be prideful) myself on having good common sense and enough street smarts to keep my life intact.
I however, am not immune to the occasional ditzy moment. For the most part I am able to process the thought, keeping it from escaping the confines of my blonde mind. Other times...not so much. Don't believe me? Here are some of my more recent blunders:
The Scene: We were driving down the street. The asphalt hot. The sun glaring.
Action: Squinting through the windshield...
Blunder (read-the words that escaped my mouth): "It's a full sun today"
What I meant to say: I was referring to how hot and miserable the sun was. Yeah. Right. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
The Scene: Lazy evening, winding down for the day.
Action: Talking and chattin' it up with My Better Half -who commented "June is near half over..Where has the time gone?"
Blunder: (read-the words that escaped my mouth): "Yeah..I know AND it's almost half-way to July"
What I meant to say: "Yeah..I know. I can't believe time has flown by so fast...."
Needless to say I have heard the following phrases NUMEROUS time over the course of time
"Look Danielle, it's a full sun today". Which is usually followed by one of my toddlers commenting with "Yeah and the moons out too."
OR
"Can you believe we are half-way to July. I mean seriously. June is almost over and we are half-way there....Where does the time go?"

Hope you have a super weekend! Thanks for being such a great friend to me :) ♥ HUGS ♥
You can never live it down, can you?!?
Huh? I don't see Anything the matter at all with your remarks, they are kind of cute and really true.
Thanks for posting the picture of your beautiful daughter, ((Hugs))
The heart never forgets.
I know what you mean about the full sun, and I don't think it's stupid.
Sometimes there's a breeze, so the sun doesn't feel as cutting. Other times, the sun feels like it's two feet from the earth.
So no, I understand those statements. They aren't stupid.
LOL Love it! Sounds exactly like something I would say. Be proud. Embrace your inner blonde!
Are you kidding me? That's hilarious girl.
too funny!
LOL...i say all sorts of things the kids don't understand, then they say things like 'oooh, thats what they used to say in the olden days'nice!
After a rainy day like yesterday I'm really feeling that full sun out there today. I totally get ya. :)
People never forget the ditzy blonde! I knew what you meant. (Yup, I too was a ditzy blonde back in the day!)
When my hubby was taking me to the airport to go to my dieing father's bedside there was a motorcyclist with dark glasses on in front of us. He had a dog sitting on his bike and Pat commented (jokingly) it was probably his seeing eye dog. I answered,"Really??" Yup. Duhhh. I claim it was cuz my brain was fogged from stress. Still haven't lived it down 15 years later!
You have a good weekend dear.

Lol!
I've found in my line of work (nanny) that the people I often work for (brainiac millionaires) are ALL book smart and no common sense smart. I'd rather have a little bit of both!
so funny.... it's so bad when the kids start correcting you...
I knew what you meant! Thank goodness you are normal! :)
I was just thinking the same thing. Almost half way to July and mid way through June:)
Those are great! I just had a moment today where someone was talking about a subway in L.A. And I told them that I didn't think there was a subway in L.A. only in New York.
She was talking about the sandwich place Subway. Yeah.
