Quiet..I'm Hiding..
>> Sunday, March 22, 2009
My boys seem to be going through a phase. They seem to think that if they are quiet enough and announce themselves with "SHhhhh", I won't know they are up to no good.
Our most recent moment was during bed-time. I tucked my baby into his toddler bed. Loved on him and said goodnight. As I pulled the door shut, it didn't latch. I knew it hadn't, but left it. Knowing that once I was finished with his older -much more challenging brother, I could use it as an excuse to sneak an infamous Gettie kiss.
As I said my "luff-you's" and gave 'Mo's' to the Mo-tay, I heard the 'click' of a door being latched and the distinct swish-swish of a diapered child pass by. The sounds of a 'Shhh', filling the air.
I finished the task at hand, knowing something wasn't right. Certain that my youngest was not where I had left him....
I discovered him on the couch, hiding under a blanket. One eye..his left eye to be exact, peering out from under the blanket. Watching the television that had been left on. I let him get away with it for a few minutes. His sweet innocence. Convinced that if he shut the door to his bedroom, I would be none the wiser. That I would assume he had drifted off to sleep behind the closed door. I most definitely would not notice the mysterious blanket with a case of the wiggles.

I love when they walk past you with their hands over their eyes.. 'if I can't see you then you can't see me..'
This made me lol. Can just see the little imp thinking he's pulled a fast one over on you. Weird, but I remember those "just one more kiss" days like they were yesterday. She's almost 29yrs now! ANywayyyyy, I know you've heard this b4, but enjoy every moment you have with your sweet babies as the time just flies by. Then you're old. Ta da!
and they wonder how we know....keep them guessing..bless their little hearts and minds
That is so sweet! The 4 yr old I nanny for likes to come to me and tell me what he's NOT doing...."I'm NOT playing v-tech....." oh really? What possessed you to come tell me that? (I have a no tv rule while I'm working). Lol!
Aren't they funny trying to be sneaky? Cute story.
hehe!! My kids do it too. Don't they realize that even though they are whispering--they are still lound enough for me to hear? Gotta love being a mommy!!
just too cute! i woulda had to let him get away with it for a while too!!
Too cute! It's amazing what they think they can get away with.
Max will put his hands over his eyes and say "I not have eyes! My eyes are all gone!"
That is one of the things I love about kids. How cute can they get?
I can just picture it. They are too cute!
Ha! That is so cute.
That is so absolutely precious!
I always wonder how they come up with their lil' tricks. I've come to realize my children are much smarter than I am :)
Very cute. I love the image in my head of the blanket with the wiggles.
