Need More Proof?

I figured after sharing the Macy's story, I might as well get the rest of my skeletons out of the closet.
Let me set the scene. It was a warm day and we were destined for the mountains for the weekend. All we needed to do was pull the family camping trailer into the driveway, load our stuff and we would be off.
The process of pulling the trailer up to the house can be a tricky one. My dad will typically, with the trailer hooked behind the truck, park in the driveway. The truck parked under the carport, with the trailer behind it. This precarious parking scenario requires someone to “spot” the driver of the truck.
This particular day, that was me. He specifically told me to “Watch the carport”. No further explanation needed. He thought. But that is where he thought wrong. Because I did EXACTLY as I was asked. I watched the carport. I watched that carport right up to the moment that he drove the front of the trailer right through it. Yup! I stood guard as asked, like any other diligent daughter.
Needless to say, I will never live this one down. The good news is. I don’t have to be bothered with “spotting the driver” when pulling, backing or parking the family camp trailer!
Not quite getting the visual intended. This should do the trick! (Fortunate for me, my little mishap wasn't quite THIS devastating!)

LOL! OK, that's seriously funny!!! Loved the video too.
Do you like Pampered Chef? I'm hosting an online show from today through 1/30! Email me if you'd like an invitation!!
Too funny! When I was in high school, I worked at this Mom and Pop fast food place. I think I had stopped by one day, and I put the car in drive instead of reverse, and drove right into the drinking fountain on the outside, which burst a pipe inside the restaurant. Good times.
I have a friend that drove through the front of Kroger and didn't stop until she was at the end of the checkout lane. That is worse than yours.
I totally would have done something like that...seriously! Did you get yelled at, or sent to your room or anything? :)
HAHAHAHA!! That is so funny!! My bff in high school got her license and we decided to go to Take 5 which was a little burger joint. Their drive up order thing was a big red garbage can. It was the first day she had her license and we pulled around to order and instead of pulling next to it she pulled into it--in her dad's brand bew truck.
And the amazing part is the "dent" in the carport lives on and on to remind me each and "EVERYTIME" I pull into my driveway-especially with the trailer and my "NEW" spotter. As for Erin's question- No punishment- it's impossible to punish while rolling on the ground laughing !!!!!!Love Fatherson
What about Grandma NORMAN
Oh my!
I'm a little like you, and usually the last person asked to "spot" anything. Because I need SPECIFIC instructions. :)
That's funny!!
So funny. My son's girlfriend ran into our carport post...but that was after she had hit him on his motorcycle a few weeks before so we knew she was a bad driver. She has been his wife for 17 years now.
OH,Danielle, you're been tagged.Don't know if you play these silly little games, but visit my Jan 17th blog post for the "rules"....you can bend them if you want;<)
Hahah I can totally imagine that!
The video makes me cringe. All I can think is "That person HAS to be dead."
Grim thought. But that's where my mind tends to go.
Ohhhhh!! One less job though!
Lol! Hahahaha! Good story!
Well you did exactly as you were asked. Can't fault you there.
I love this story. It just proves we are all living similar lives, and things like this happen to everyone.
BAHAHAHAHAHA Oh my gosh, I can SO identify with this. I HATE spotting for my husband, dad or anyone for that matter. I did almost the same thing you did with my husband and our motorhome but I think it was HIS fault-- he just didn't let me know I was suppose to YELL when he got close:)
That is hilarious!
Thanks for the warning, if I ever need any help with my driving or spotting, I won't ask you.
