A Domestic Goddess
>> Thursday, September 18, 2008
Due to a glitch in our usual system. I selflessly (because I'm just that generous) offered to take the day off of work yesterday, staying home with our sick kids. Suzy home-maker is not my usual role within our household. I am typically the evening nanny and the single parent weekend type of gal. Leaving my husband to tend to breakfast, lunch, and nap times mixed in with more of the day to day chores, including a warm dinner at the end of the day.
Yesterdays decision for me to stay home, left me bored and looking for something to do by 9am. So I tapped into my inner domestic-ness. By the time I realized what was happening,
I had done a little laundry-
I even tempted fate and broke out the vacuum-
But Oh No my friend, it didn't end there. I topped it all off with dinner consisting of twice baked baked potatoes, some microwave steamed broccoli and some totally shaken and baked pork chops. Okay, so the baked potatoes were the frozen store bought kind that you unwrap and bake in the oven. But I had to totally place the pork chops in the Shake and Bake bags and coat them evenly. And ensuring the correct cook time on the microwave broccoli can be a daunting task when the directions read "6-7 minutes on High". How does one decide, do I go with 6 minutes? 6 1/2 minutes, or do I take my chances with the full 7 minutes?
All of this is proof that I am practically a Domestic Goddess. Move over Martha Stewart, Betty Crocker, Sara Lee, and the Pillsbury Dough Boy...There's a new homemaker in town. -But don't go to far, for today I must put my Employee of the Workforce hat back on and go back to work.

Bired by 9 AM? I wake up at 9 AM. :)
And I have nothing against pre-made things, as you might know.
Ummmm, that should be bored.
Mmmmm, that dinner looks good! I love Steamfresh veggies. I actually used them last night for our dinner. What do you and your husband do for your jobs where you're able to switch off like that? That's nice!
Congrats on a productive day at home!
what's for dinner tonight?
